Morehead State University student-athletes excelled in their academic endeavors in 2019-20 and earned special recognition for their dedication.

A record number of MSU student-athletes earned accolades on the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The total came to 146, topping the previous department benchmark set in 2017-18.

To be listed, recipients must have achieved at least a 3.25 grade point average (GPA) and have been eligible and on the team throughout the competitive season in their chosen NCAA-sponsored sport(s).

Due to the extraordinary circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, spring sport athletes who were eligible and met the GPA requirements but saw their seasons canceled (therefore not using a season of competition) received the award. Additionally, student-athletes who had pass/fail courses listed on their transcript were also made eligible so long as the institutional GPAs are calculated according to institutional policy.

Baseball led the way with 22 student-athletes named to the honor roll, followed closely by soccer (18) and beach volleyball (17). Below are the names of all MSU Commissioner’s Honor Roll honorees for the 2019-20 academic year:
