David Soper (11) has always had a love for numbers. Therefore, when it came time to pick a major in college, he said accounting “seemed like a no-brainer.” Graduating from Morehead State with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Soper has gone on to have a successful career within the financial field.
He credits Morehead State as a driving force in shaping his future.
“(The) well-educated professors, combined with rigorous curriculum and real-world experience, provided me with the knowledge necessary for succeeding in today’s financial world,” said Soper.
After graduation, Soper began working at Kentucky Bank as a retail banker, where his role involved consumer lending and establishing new accounts. His experience in the financial field has continued to expand and currently includes asset management, accounting and lending.
Soper has recently been promoted to vice president, commercial lender, for Kentucky Bank. In this role, he will continue to provide excellent customer service to all his current and potential customers while building and growing assets of Kentucky Bank with a sizeable loan portfolio.
“The promotion means a lot to my family and myself,” says Soper. “Not only does it give me the opportunity to connect and build relationships with commercial customers, but also gives me the ability to help people achieve their dreams of starting and growing successful businesses.”
