A graduate of Morehead State University recently opened her own veterinary clinic, achieving a lifelong dream of caring for animals.
Dr. Christina Osborne (07) founded the Central Appalachian Veterinary Clinic in South Williamson, offering internal medicine, radiology, laboratory services, comprehensive surgical procedures and patient care services to small and exotic animals.
Osborne was born and raised in Virgie. She graduated from Morehead State in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She continued her education at Auburn University, graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2011. After graduation, Osborne worked for one year at East Kentucky Animal Clinic in Pikeville and has worked for the past six years at Danville Animal Clinic in Danville, West Virginia, as an associate veterinarian.
Osborne’s mission is to, “provide her patients with quality, personalized care, allowing them to live long, healthy, happy lives with their loving families. Pets are family members and we treat them like our family at Central Appalachian Veterinary Clinic,” she said. She turned to MSU’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for assistance with getting the clinic started.
Central Appalachian Veterinary Clinic opened last fall. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
